Hawke's Bay - East Cape
Hawke’s Bay offers a unique combination of picturesque scenery and stylish
culture in a delightful sunny climate. Located on the east coast of New
Zealand’s North Island, Hawke’s Bay Wine Country is New Zealand’s leading food
and wine region. With over 2200 hours of sunshine, Hawke’s Bay is a year-round
holiday destination with an exceptional mix of visual and sensory experiences.
The main centre of the region is Napier, a charming town nestled in the bay and
offering many stunning examples of Art Deco and Spanish Mission-style
architecture. Art Deco-themed events feature highly on the social calendar and a
lively arts scene is another important aspect of the local culture.
Along Napier’s magnificent coastline explore golden sandy beaches, cafes and the
National Aquarium of New Zealand. Further south, visit the world’s largest
mainland colony of Gannets, a handsome seabird. Sampling the local produce will
be high on the to-do list of any traveler.

Wine tasting
Hawke’s Bay’s fertile plains, combined with a warm
and sunny climate, have given the area a reputation
as the fruit bowl of New Zealand.
It is wine, however, that has really put this region
on the map. Hawke’s Bay is the country’s second
largest winemaking region and it holds the
distinction of being New Zealand’s leading producer
of award-winning red wines. |
