Northland
Northland, the birthplace of New Zealand, is a place where twin coasts make for
one exciting holiday destination. It is an amazing place to indulge the senses,
relax and to revive one’s soul.
Northland’s history is rich and interesting. It is believed that the first
Polynesian voyagers arrived in Northland during the 11th century. Today Waitangi
is the seat of Maori culture, which is very much alive in this region.
Although rich in history, most of Northland remains unspoilt.
From its ancient Kauri forests to the hundreds of kilometres of stunning
coastline, the region is a paradise for nature lovers.
The subtropical north lends itself to exploration, for those visitors preferring
a single base, we suggest the Bay of Islands.
